I’m a comedy screenwriter from Houston who writes dynamic stories about queer Black women living their best lives and who aren’t killed at the end like a gay sacrificial lamb. I specialize in developing heartfelt and hilarious narratives from the busy intersection of race, gender, and sexuality. After narrowly escaping the terrifying prospect of a career in journalism, I decided I wanted to write stories that make people laugh and feel good.
I was a 2022 semifinalist for the indie screenwriting program TRIBE and have made at least two Emmy-award winning writers laugh out loud. And not to gloat, but President Obama once told my mom that I was, and I quote, “very impressive.”
